What the work involves.
Most of a good paint job happens before the first coat. Furniture and floors are covered, nail holes and dings are patched, rough spots sanded, gaps caulked, stains and repairs primed, and edges taped or cut in by hand. Then the color goes on in even coats with clean lines where walls meet ceilings and trim. Changing from a dark color to a light one, or painting over unprimed patches, takes more coats than refreshing the same shade — we’ll tell you what your walls need.
Painting is the finishing step of most remodels, so it pairs naturally with our flooring, trim and bathroom work — floors first, then baseboards, then paint. It’s also the fastest way to make a home feel new before a sale, a move-in or a big family event.
Typical interior painting projects
- Walls and ceilings — one room or the whole house
- Trim, baseboards, doors and casings
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinet painting
- Accent walls and color changes
- Drywall patching and texture repair before paint
- Priming over stains, repairs and new drywall
- Pre-sale and move-in repaints
- Painting after flooring, trim or remodeling work
Interior painting in Northern Utah
Utah’s dry air and bright light are kind to interior paint — coats cure quickly and colors read true — but they also show every roller mark, patch and uneven sheen, which is why prep and consistent application matter here. Newer Wasatch Front homes are often painted in a single flat builder color throughout; a proper repaint with washable finishes on walls and a harder enamel on trim makes a visible difference.
Older homes in Salt Lake City, Bountiful, Ogden and Provo bring plaster walls, textured ceilings and layers of old paint that need patching and priming before they look right. We plan for that and tell you what we find.

Interior Painting questions.
Do you patch walls before painting?
Yes. Nail holes, dings, cracks and small drywall damage are patched, sanded and primed as part of the job. Larger drywall repairs are quoted separately.
Do you paint cabinets?
Yes. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets are cleaned, sanded, primed and finished with a durable enamel. It is one of the most cost-effective kitchen updates.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Move small items and valuables; we cover and shift larger furniture to the center of the room and protect floors before we start.
How many coats will my walls need?
Usually two. Dramatic color changes, new drywall or stained surfaces may need a primer coat as well. We’ll tell you after seeing the rooms.
Can you match the paint that’s already on my walls?
Often, yes — a sample chip can be matched at the paint store. For touch-ups on older paint, a full wall repaint usually blends better than spot-painting.
