01 Working in Spanish Fork

What we know about Spanish Fork.

Spanish Fork has grown steadily for two decades, adding subdivisions on the west and south sides while the older core around Main Street keeps its early-1900s houses. The new homes come the Utah County way — full basements, unfinished; backyards graded but bare — and the 1990s and 2000s neighborhoods are now reaching their first round of bathroom, flooring and driveway work.

Two local facts shape exterior work here more than anywhere else we go. The first is wind: the canyon funnels strong east winds across the city, especially in fall and winter, and a fence that isn’t built for it doesn’t last. We set posts deeper, use heavier rails and space posts closer on exposed runs. The second is water: Spanish Fork runs its own utilities, including a pressurized irrigation system for outdoor watering in season, so sprinkler systems are secondary-water systems with filters and a spring-to-fall schedule.

Basement finishes, remodels and accessory structures are permitted through the city’s Community Development office, and fence height and placement rules are set by zone; we confirm the current requirements for your lot before we quote. Estimates are free throughout Spanish Fork and the neighboring communities of Mapleton, Springville and Salem.

Wind
Canyon winds from Spanish Fork Canyon are strong enough to damage fences and structures, especially in fall and winter. We build fences here with deeper posts, closer spacing and reinforced rails.
Water
Spanish Fork owns its utilities, including a pressurized irrigation system used for outdoor watering during the irrigation season. Sprinkler systems need filtration and are zoned for the season; culinary water is separate.
Permits
Spanish Fork Community Development issues permits for basement finishes, remodels and accessory buildings and sets fence rules by zone. We confirm the current requirements for your address before quoting.
Housing
Early-1900s homes in the core; 1990s–2000s subdivisions at first-update age; new west- and south-side neighborhoods with unfinished basements and unbuilt yards.
