01 About this service

What the work involves.

Whatever the material, a good floor depends on what’s under it. Old carpet, vinyl or tile comes out; the subfloor is checked for squeaks, soft spots and high or low areas and corrected; then the new floor goes down with the right underlayment and expansion gaps, finished with baseboards, transitions to other rooms and, where needed, stairs. Skipping the prep is where cheap installs go wrong — floors that click, gap or lift within a year.

We install flooring you’ve already bought as well as flooring we source for you, and we’ll give an honest opinion about which product suits the room: waterproof luxury vinyl plank for kitchens, baths and basements, laminate or engineered wood for living areas and bedrooms, tile where water and wear are heaviest. Flooring is also one of the services we combine most often with painting, trim and bathroom work.

Typical flooring installation projects

  • Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and vinyl tile
  • Laminate flooring
  • Engineered and solid hardwood
  • Tile floors in kitchens, baths and entries
  • Carpet, vinyl and tile removal
  • Subfloor repair and leveling
  • Stairs, landings and transitions
  • Baseboards and trim to finish

Flooring for Northern Utah homes

Utah’s dry climate is hard on wood. Solid hardwood shrinks and gaps in winter when indoor humidity drops, so engineered wood, laminate or luxury vinyl plank are often the more stable choice here, and every wood product needs time to acclimate in the house before it’s installed. Basements — a big share of Wasatch Front living space — call for waterproof or moisture-tolerant flooring over a checked concrete slab.

Homes in older Salt Lake City, Bountiful, Ogden and Provo neighborhoods often have several layers of old flooring and uneven subfloors that need attention first. Newer homes in Herriman, Lehi, South Jordan and Layton usually just need builder-grade carpet swapped for something that lasts.

02 Questions

Flooring Installation questions.

Which flooring is best for a Utah basement?

Luxury vinyl plank or tile — both handle moisture and temperature swings. Laminate works when the slab is dry and a proper vapor barrier is used. We check the slab before recommending.

Can you install flooring I bought myself?

Yes. Tell us the product and square footage. We’ll confirm it suits the room and note anything extra it needs, such as underlayment or acclimation time.

Do you remove the old flooring?

Yes. Removal and disposal of carpet, vinyl, laminate or tile, plus subfloor prep, are part of the installation.

Do you do stairs?

Yes — stair treads, risers, landings and the transitions to hallways are included when you tell us stairs are part of the project.

How long does a flooring install take?

A few rooms of LVP or laminate usually take a day or two; whole-home or hardwood projects take longer, plus acclimation time for wood. We’ll give a timeline with your free estimate.

Where do you install flooring?

Salt Lake City and across Northern Utah — Ogden, Layton, Bountiful, West Valley City, West Jordan, Sandy, South Jordan, Herriman, Lehi, Orem, Provo, Park City and Tooele.
